The Artemide variety derives from the cross between Venere rice (with a medium grain and black pericarp) and an Indica-type rice (with a long and narrow grain and white pericarp). This is a brown-black, aromatic rice. Artemide rice has an intense and pleasant aroma and the grain a beautiful, elongated shape. Given its close relationship with Venere rice, it has a high iron and silicon content - the latter contributing to its antioxidant properties. Artemide rice pairs well with cheese, fish, vegetables and mushrooms.
