Noos Nocino

The artificial word NOOS is derived from the word “Nos”, which means “nut” in Ticino dialect. On a mystical night around the summer solstice, the walnuts used for production, still unripe at that time, are picked barefoot by women. So the legend goes, and this is exactly the way it is done at Manifattura Branchi. Cut by hand, the nuts are marinated together with various spices and Swiss sugar in the finest Ticino grappa and exposed to the weather for 40 nights for maceration. Bottling is also done exclusively at night. As in the past, NOOS succeeds in capturing the mystical energy of the night in the bottle
