Mountain Wildflower Honey
After a long winter, often marked by heavy snowfalls, the awakening of nature in the Upper Leventina Valley with the blooming of the first plants drives the work of beekeeping families that find the first pollens.
First appear the blossoms of the hazelnut and then, gradually, other plants including dandelion. What characterises this honey are the nectars collected from the flowers of the Upper Leventina Valley, blooming above 1000 metres. Important, in fact, for this honey is the presence of summer rhododendron nectar. Mountain Multi-Flower honey is characterised by a light amber colour, initially liquid and then crystallising to become creamy. With its delicate aroma, it is ideal for sweetening tea or herbal infusions, and for spreading on bread or buttered brioche for breakfast.
