Imagine an inn immersed in the mountainous landscape of the Canton of Ticino, at the gates of the Alps. Here, in days gone by, wayfarers would rest their horses and refresh themselves with a hot meal and some rest before tackling the Gotthard crossing.

This place of such poetic reverberations is Fratelli Corti SA, which has been present in the Balerna area since 1792 and now boasts a thriving family-run business that looks to the future.

Along the way, Fratelli Corti SA has been involved in winemaking Mendrisiotto grapes and Merlot grapes since their introduction at the turn of the century in Canton Ticino.

Today, thanks in part to the resourcefulness of Nicola Corti, Corti Brothers SA offers a delicious cross-section of what Ticino’s terroir is all about, thanks in part to two products of excellence that you can find in our shop: the Nocino nostrano ticinese and the Grappa nostrana di Uva americana.
