Mountain Wildflower Honey

After a long winter often characterized by abundant snowfalls, the awakening of nature in the Upper Leventina Valley with the blooming of the first plants catalyzes the work of bee families that find the first pollens.

First, hazel flowers appear, then gradually the other plants including dandelions. What characterizes this honey are the nectars collected from the flowers of the Upper Leventina Valley, blooming above 1000 meters. Important, in fact, for this honey is the presence of summer rhododendron nectar. This Mountain Wildflower honey is characterized by a light amber color, initially liquid and then crystallizing to become creamy. With its delicate aroma, it is ideal for sweetening tea or herbal teas, and for spreading on bread or butter braid for breakfast.
