Black Elderberry Eau-de-vie

This black elderberry is obtained from the black and shiny berries of the shrub of the same name. In Tyrol they are considered a healthy treasure to keep in the garden and, once distilled, they are highly appreciated as a pleasant “eau-de-vie of health.”

This elderberry grows in Lower Austria under ideal climatic conditions and without the use of pesticides. Once harvested, the fully ripe berries are turned into mash directly by the fruit grower. It is then transported to the distillery.

To distill one liter of this rarity, up to 55 kg of berries are required, as the yield is naturally limited due to the low sugar content of the fruit. Over time it becomes a noble spirit with fine and complex fruity aromas: dark berries, spicy and smooth with a delicate hint of dark chocolate.
